As a former Teamster (yeah, well, it was a really long time ago), I can only rejoice that the SEIU and the Teamsters are bailing out of the AFL-CIO.
I live less than a block from an AFL-CIO HQ office. There's rarely anybody there. Not quite sure what they do. Totally unsupportive of my efforts to do some Kucinich organizing last year ("we hafta wait 'til national tells us who to support").
Far as I'm concerned, AFL-CIO has done more to hurt workers than the Pinkertons ever thought of. Hope more unions bail.
